Buitres Leonados In 2008, Gredos Vivo (The Living Gredos) organises tours in and around the Gredos mountain range in western central Spain as well as a special early spring tour based in and around the National Park of Monfragüe. A wide variety of exciting itineraries are offered, exploring various landscapes whilst discovering their birds and wildlife, a chance also to enjoy the local culture, tradition and gastronomy. All tours start from Madrid airport.

These trips have been designed for those who enjoy watching birds while discovering the beauty and distinctive features of new environments at a leisurely pace. They are not aimed at obtaining the longest bird list in the shortest time possible! Walking is easy, generally not more than 2-3 miles at a time. Should a more challenging walk be involved at any point, it would be optional. Most days, lunch will be a picnic and there will be free time for everyone to enjoy in his or her own way.

Ave de Gredos The Sierra de Gredos, in central western Spain, is a protected natural park well known for its diversity of habitats and birds. Birds such as the Bluethroat, Rock Thrush, Ortolan Bunting, Citril Finch and many raptors breed in the area. Gredos Vivo (The Living Gredos) also offers to take you on short birding walks or tours (half or full days) through some of the best areas of the northern parts of the Gredos mountains.
